Mother in Law is here

As promised, here's the MIL doll so far! Tonight we add the arms, legs and bathrobe!!! I'm using Rowan for the hair, and Karabella frost for the body. The earrings are made of hand-blown glass. Interested in a kit, including complimentary hand-made wooden knitting needles? write me! I'm putting together packages tonight that include the pattern and all yarns, sterling silver earring components/handblown blass, all materials and knitting needle to make your very own MIL!

Also a HUGE thank you to Katrina! She read on my blog that I didn't hear back from my SP5 for some time, and sent me a wonderful gift in the mail! 3 skeins of incredibly soft, hand-spun off-white yarn and kool-aid to dye it with! I will post pics of the end result. We had a blast attempting dying for the first time ever. Skein #1 came out beautiful! Now for the next two! You can visit Katrina at!

I spoke with the owner of Namaste Needles last evening. What a wonderful couple! I'm so excited for this new venture with them!

These babies are called Namaste!

Look what we have on order! I absolutely cannot wait to receive these! If anyone's interested, let me know (via email). We will have the spheres and nails in stock, and since these are in such high demand, there is a 4-6 week delivery period from the designer. Immediate orders of this week guarantee Xmas delivery.

The Mother In Law Doll

I've been inspired by Knitted Babes. I've created a Mother In Law doll. Yes fellow knitters, we now have a pattern for that special person in our lives! ;-) I've created the base, added Rowan grey hair and earrings, and now have to do the clothing end (turtleneck and khaki's). Will post pics tonight.

Enjoy your day,
With love,

Michele's in bed and I feel like being bad!

Hi everyone my name is Scott! I am Michele's husband and chief inspector of every row and stitch. As any good husband I am in charge of paying attention and looking up from my work or the ball game and being impressed with every new inch or 25.4 mm of knitted magic. Michele is off to bed with Pearl our dog she is 5 mos pregnant....Michele that is! If it was the other way I would have a tough time explaining my sympathy cravings. What would I be eating, pupperoni, milkbones? Nothing against those two things, I have tried them and they both suck. I imagine "Gracie"(michele) will be quite surprised to find that I have hacked into her blog and blogged away.

The pic above is of our new make your own needle kit!
Fun and easy instructions....all parts included

I am new to this but guess the idea is to write about what I did today, so here goes: first as many on you know I manufacture wooden knitting needles so that is my day for the most part. This morning I spent a few hours preparing shipments to London, France, Canada and here in the United States. After shipping I did some banking and stopped at one of my suppliers. After that I came back and worked on our retail packaging for our needle sets and kits to make your own needle sets. Then Gracie came home and we spent a quiet night together.

How far can you throw a trash can?
For nine days it rained here...we received approximately 20" of rain or 508mm. Tuesday's are trash pick up and I had a good laugh watching the trash men throwing our cans as far as thy could....primarily due to the frustration of the water weight. I felt bad for them and I was glad they vented out on my cans. I estimate that they hurled the cans 15 feet in the air and 25 feet in distance...great job...the judges Rus 9.8 Can 9.6 US 10.0 UK 9.8 JPN 10.0 Total 49.2 and the gold for Can hurling goes to Sanitary Services of South Windsor Connecticut.

Late Night with Scott
well I have had my fun and I am going to do what I normally do until the wee hours...get back to work. I have needles to finish and ideas to hash out. I will come back when I have something good....sorry I don't knit, I just love making the tools. -Peace

Meet Fifi

Here's a picture of Fifi, my first official Knitted Babe. She's sitting on the bookcase in my office. You'll note that I didn't have the red yarn as the pattern called for in my stash.. so I used Rowan Biggie in black.

My DH suggested creating a doll for each family member, then giving them as gifts for Xmas. We made Mary the Mom-in-Law last evening. Used Rowan cashmerino grey for her hair, and added earrings. I'm currently working on the turtleneck.

I wrote to the author today, asking if her kits were available for distribution in the US. Has anyone ordered one, and if so, was it worth the money spent?

The sun is shining, and it's a beautiful Monday. I am 5 months pregnant this week. Life is good.

I hope as you read this, you are enjoying many blessings. Make the most of your day and enjoy!

Knitted Babes

Good &^%(! morning,

Whats up with the continued rain?!

How was your weekend?

I just joined a really fun blog ring, Knitted Babes.

This knitalong is for those interested in the knitted and stitched dolls featured in Claire Garland’s book, Knitted Babes. I cannot wait to finish one of these dolls, they are so damn cute!
Anyway, on this knitalong, you can post pictures of your creations from the book, and post as much or as little as you like. So feel free to join in on the fun!

I worked on my DB cravat this weekend, and am just about complete. Will post the final piece soon!

My "big" secret pal package has been sent (to oversees, I won't say where yet...), and I can't wait to hear the response. I'm also sending out some surprises to a knitter in Canada, that recently commented on my blog (both of our SP5's disappeared at the same time!).

And....could someone please advise me as to how to add my favorite blog-reads to my site? I'm clueless.

Do tell!

What are you working on? Have you been pulling out any yarn from your stash for fall knitting projects?

I have several knits on the needles:
A Cravat from Debbie Bliss
A Man-Scarf (!) for my husband using Debbie Bliss's grey cashmerino chunky
A shawl... using Classic Elite Miracle (lilac)
And Fifi from Knitted Babes (SO adorable!)
Pics to follow..

Sites I love this week:
If you'd like to check out the most lovely needle holder case (hand-made!), go to She is very talented, and her blog is a great read.

Great deals: Webs in Northampton, MA has terrific fall sales... I'm hooked on this shop! See for yourself at

I find the best free e-cards on They have great kid-friendly cards.

Make it a beautiful day!

Where oh where did my SP5 go?!

I haven't heard a thing more from my SP5,...and I'm a bit disappointed that she disappeared after that....she sent something in June, then in July, but then that was it and no final package or reveal... :-(
